Appearance

The colour themes, and what the window remembers about how you arranged it.

Colour themes

View › Color Theme offers three choices.

Theme What it is
Dark Modern Dark, as the application starts.
Light Modern Light.
Follow Windows Dark or light, as Windows is set (Settings › Personalization › Colors › Choose your mode), and changes when Windows does.

The theme changes at once, for every window, without restarting and without touching your sessions. A remote desktop keeps its own colours: the theme is PluggedDesk's, not the remote computer's.

What is remembered

  • The theme.
  • Where the window is, how large it is, and whether it is maximized.
  • Whether the side bar is open, which view it shows, and how wide it is.
  • The layout of tabs and groups. See Tabs and groups.

All of it is kept in personal.db, in %APPDATA%\PluggedDesk. It is yours and is not part of the workspace.

The side bar

Ctrl B shows or hides it. Clicking the view that is already open in the activity bar does the same. Drag its edge to resize it; drag it narrow enough and it closes; double-click the edge to bring back its usual width. It never takes more than two fifths of the window.
